Story
On the 5th of April 2019, Hannah Bassett and Georgina Parker will be attempting to row a tandem 100k on a rowing machine to set a British Under 19s Lightweight Record for this category. We are aiming to complete this challenge in under 9 hours. We have both trained at Peterborough City Rowing Club and have competed nationally in a quad and double. All money raised from this years appeals day will go towards Magpas Air Ambulance.
We are fundraising for the Magpas Air Ambulance service, this is a charity that brings essential lifesaving care to patients in life-threatening emergencies by land and by air in the East of England and beyond. Magpas Air Ambulance medical team receive enhanced training in order to allow them to offer procedures and treatments usually only available in hospitals, at the scene. This means that the frontline care does not only just save lives, but maximises the likelihood of the patient returning to a good quality of life. It costs £2,584 a day to operate their helicopter, and on average, they respond to 4 emergencies each day. This amount is largely funded by donations and fundraising, therefore all donations would be extremely valuable and appreciated.
