Story

I am running the Stafford half-marathon in March for Crohns & Colitis UK. For people that know me know that this is a charity close to my heart. My mother has been diagnosed with crohns disease for most of her adult life. It is a horrible and gruelling disease.

Anyone can develop IBD - and at least 261,000* people are affected by Ulcerative Colitis (146,000*) and Crohn's disease (115,000*) in the UK - Although recently published data suggest that this could be as many as 620,000.

There is no current cure for the disease just medication to help relieve the symptoms and this is the most heartbreaking thing about it.

My mother rarely complains about being poorly even though it can end up with her being hospitalised.

I am therefore running for this charity on behalf of my amazing mum to create awareness of the disease because a cure needs to be found!

Please donate for this great cause!!
