Story
As many of you know, the 28th may will hopefully mark the end of our emotional and stressful journey with our little Cadi. She has been under the care of the incredible staff at Alder Hey for the past 12 months. At 12 weeks old Cadi suffered with sepsis and received amazing care from the staff at Wrexham children’s hospital high dependency unit for 5 days followed by numerous admissions over the next 2/3 months. She was then referred to Dr Grace Khong at the ENT department who diagnosed little Cads with a haemangioma in her airway just below her vocal cords which was the cause of her noisy breathing and numerous episodes of croup. Since June, Cadi has undergone 5 operations under general anaesthetic and was prescribed propranolol to shrink her haemangioma. Now 12 months on it has disappeared and she is off her meds!! Eryl and I are so incredibly proud of our little brave, funny, cheeky Cadi Beth. As a huge thank you to all at Alder Hey especially the ENT and surgical teams, I want to try and raise as much money as we can. So if you have a bit of spare change please donate ❤️ Diolch yn fawr xxx
I am walking or running 100km this June for Alder Hey Children's Charity.
Alder Hey Children’s Charity raises vital funds to help make Alder Hey Children’s Hospital a truly world-class, patient-friendly hospital for the 330,000 patients and families we care for every year.
Since 2013, over £65m has been raised for a range of life-saving medical equipment and facilities that are making a real difference every day.
That money also ensures that every child experiences Alder Hey magic – those little added extras that make the hospital experience the best it can be during a young person’s stay.
