Story
‘By heck!’ I hear you shout ‘Who is this fine little specimen flexing his muscles at the poolside with his dad and then impersonating a fish… at some good speed I might add!’
Yes, if you haven’t already guessed it’s the one and only ‘Mr Antony Falco’, soon to be known as ‘Flipper’ to his friends.
As a youngster Mr Falco was a keen swimmer, so much so, that at the age of 9 this keen big-hearted lad took part in a 5000 metre Swimming Marathon as part of the ‘Great Ormond Street Hospital Swimathon’, which raised money for the ‘Wishing Well Charity’ and was deservedly featured in his local newspaper.
Over the past months, Falco has been pursuing some lifestyle changes in order to improve his health and wellbeing and has been doing really well.
Sadly, Falco has recently lost 2 friends after suffering with cancer. After some reflection as is often the case, he’s decided to challenge himself, take the plunge and ‘Make a Difference!’
If you’ve had the pleasure of Falco’s friendship over years or enjoyed his company on the odd night out (I believe the term is “You’ve been Falco’d”) you will know he doesn’t do things by half. So, 36 years on at the fine old age of 45 he’s going to don his flowery
swimming cap and Rubber Ring, and dive in at the deep end with another ’5000 metre Swimming Marathon’ in Apri 2024.
He could and most probably should have gone for one of the shorter distances, but NOT Antony!
This time the swim will be in aid of ‘Cancer Research UK and
Marie Curie’ Ant will have up to 3 hours to complete his 200 lengths! This will be checked… and verified!!!
So, to all Ants family, friends and colleagues worldwide, PLEASE will you offer your support and generosity during his forthcoming endeavor and help to raise LOAD ‘O’ MONEY in battling this relentless disease.
