Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In 2009 my mother was diagnose with an already advanced state of Alzheimer's disease, since that day my life and my sister's life completely changed. We had to deal for several years with one of the the most terrible periods of our lives. If you don't know, the Alzheimer slowly destroys you day by day. You can see someone slowly turning off and when this someone is your mother, it's a reality hard to accept knowing that you can't do absolutely nothing to help, you can only silently accept it and give to the person all the love you can. The Alzheimer steals your dignity as human being and I believe that in life you are allowed to lose everything but not your dignity. My wonderful Mum Anna left this world on the 26th July 2015 and for some strange mystery of life she was pretty peaceful that day, maybe she was aware that finally all the suffering were going to finish soon. With this small gesture of running for her and to support the Alzheimer's Society I want remember her smile, at the end was the last thing I have seen and I want also give a bit of hope to all the people affected by this awful disease and their families, hoping that one day, through the research, and the support of all the people working around this problem, this evil illness will be finally defeated.
Thank you for reading and to for your support!
With love
