Story
On 11th November 2022, our family lost our wonderful father Owain Williams to Pancreatic Cancer. He was the centre of our family and we miss him everyday. He fought this cancer with incredible bravery and determination. However Pancreatic Cancer is a particularly world shattering diagnosis. It is often diagnosed in its most advanced stages and currently the expected survival rate after the first 12 months is only 20%. He will always be remembered and loved by his children, Elizabeth, Antonia, Harry, Arabella and Archie and our mother, Bethan.
Not known for his athletic ability, our Dad would've suggested a 'slap up dinner with some good wine' to remember him by. However on May 28th we will be running the Edinburgh marathon (Harry doing full, Antonia & Bella half) and fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK, a charity that provides vital support to patients and is at the forefront of much needed medical research.
Both of our parents have battled cancer and we would love to raise money and awareness of it, particularly Pancreatic Cancer. We do of course appreciate there are lots of demands on peoples funds at the moment. If you are unable to donate, we totally understand and ask that perhaps you spend a little time reading the information found here:
Signs
and symptoms of pancreatic cancer - Pancreatic Cancer UK.
Knowing the signs of what to look for could help save a loved one and any donations go a long way in ensuring that this cruel disease gets the resources it so badly needs.
All of our love and thanks, Antonia, Harry and Arabella.
