Story
I’ve participated in an annual fundraiser for Boys to Men Mentoring for the past 6 years, and since 2021 feels like a tough year to ask people to donate, I had been 99% sure that I would NOT participate in this years 100 Wave Challenge.
But I just couldn't shake that feeling that I was making a mistake. I realized that as uncomfortable as it is to ask for donations during a time like this, it's nothing compared to the daily challenge many boys go through not having a father or any positive male role models.
I've been extremely fortunate in my life to have a GREAT dad and many wonderful mentors, but countless jails and gangs are filled with too many boys that weren't as lucky. We can provide these boys with a life changing mentorship experience, but leadership programs aren't free.
On October 30, I'll spend 8 hours in the ocean to catch 100 waves and hopefully raise $3,000 in the process. If you're in a place that your able to donate to this extremely worthy charity, regardless of the amount, I will catch a wave for you, and together we'll change a boy's life.
