Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you will know, I have signed up to join Lee Ford's team with 3 other North East fundraisers on a fantastic cycling challenge in 2012.
The Official "Cap-To-Cap" bike ride.
The challenge will visit all 5 capital cities of Scotland, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Wales and England.
Starting the event in the city centre of Newcastle upon Tyne, our first capital city stop off is the capital of Scotland, Edinburgh. From there the group will head west through Scottish towns and countryside to Troon, where a crossing of the Irish Sea awaits.
From Larne in Northern Ireland we will cycle south to Belfast, followed shortly by Dublin.
Our time in Ireland will end with our second ferry crossing, this time landing in Holyhead, Wales. From there we will push on towards our fourth capital city of Cardiff, crossing through the beautiful Welch Mountains of Snowdonia National Park.
Our final leg of the challenge will see us head east, crossing into England via the Severn bridge, making our way past Oxford and Cambridge before reaching the finish line at Trafalgar Square in London.
The event has been organised by Lee, based on the first ‘Cap-To-Cap’ route he created back in 2007 (The Cap-To-Cap Bike Ride: for Cancer Research UK), and has been planned since December 2009.
In total, the challenge should take us approximately 9 days.
So it's now that I need all you guys to help me raise as much as possible for a fantastic local cause. The Children's Unit at St. Oswalds Hospice.
