Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.
As many people are aware, my son Nathan was treated for Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma last year. His treatment consisted of 6 months Chemotherapy provided by a first class Oncology team at Great Ormond Street, followed by 2 months of Radiotherapy at UCL.During this time we received a lot of support from Friends, family and one stand out charity CLIC Sargent. They provided support for us in a very subtle way allowing us to stay at Pauls House in London during Nathans Radiotherapy treatment (http://www.clicsargent.org.uk/in-my-area/clic-sargent-homes-from-home/pauls-house) also we were assisted in some of the admin work by a representative from CLIC Sargent and they were also able to work with Nathan, Lucy, Kerry and I to ensure that we were looked after at a personal level.
Until then, I didn’t really appreciate how much charity work can benefit and assist people in certain situations, and how much they rely on donations and fund raising to continue to deliver first class services.
I will be running the London Marathon on Sunday 21st April, and as I am running as a Club runner I am therefore not affiliated to any Charity. I would really like to use this opportunity to raise a little bit of money to send back to CLIC Sargent as a small gesture of gratitude.
If you can afford even a small donation, I would love that to be added to a total that I can raise and repay to a charity that is really worth it.
Many thanks,
Anthony + Nathan
