Story
After running the London Marathon for the Child Growth Foundation in 2021 (3hrs 44, since you ask), I'm back on the start line in April, because I was daft enough to enter the ballot again, and the CGF still needs funding.
For the last 45 years, the CGF has helped children with growth disorders and their families access the help they need, raising awareness and understanding of rare genetic conditions, campaigning for early diagnosis, driving forward medical research, and building condition-specific support networks across the UK and beyond. As a parent of a child with the overgrowth condition Sotos Syndrome, I have found the CGF to be invaluable and inspiring – and I'm very proud to have joined the board of trustees in 2021.
If you donated last time, I realise you might think my expecting to rinse you for more cash by doing EXACTLY THE SAME THING all over again is a bit, well, cheeky. All I can say to that is: yup. Please give generously! If you want, I'll write you a limerick or something.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the CGF. So it's the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
