Story
Summary of recent activities:
Sunday 4th June - 8.5 miles Sutton Fun Run:
Suki and Ted (the best doggos) wanted to raise money for CRY in memory of Ant as well. Ant loved them both, although secretly we know he preferred Ted! Paul (Ant’s Dad) and Richard (Ant’s brother) are going to take them on the Fun Run. Let’s hope for good weather!
Sunday 7th May - Birmingham Half Marathon:
Penny, Charlie, Henny, Matt, & Nathan completed the Birmingham Half in under 2 hours 30 minutes. This was Penny and Charlie's longest ever run!
Sunday 16th April - Manchester Marathon 2023:
The team completed the run in under 4 hours and a half!
We (Henny, Henry, Kamil, Matt, Ollie, & Penny) are running the Manchester Marathon on the 16th April 2023 to raise money for Cardiac Risk in the Young and in memory of Anthony Lane. Ant was taken from us at only 26 years old due to sudden cardiac death. He was fit and healthy, and had no symptoms. We want to raise money to support the amazing research that CRY carry out and to also provide cardiac screening to 14-35 year olds so that we can prevent these tragic deaths from happening to other families and friends. If we raise £9,500 then we can fund our own screening day in Ant's name.
Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions. With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young. By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions. See how your support can help by visiting www.c-r-y.org.uk
