Story
Manchester to Blackpool - 60 miles on a bike. Ouch!
This is the third time I've done this event and after picking up my free biscuit and drink at the end of it I can no longer live with the guilt of answering "yes" when asked if I was raising money for Christie's. So this year I thought that I'd try to get some money for this very worthy cause. I need to do at least £3.74 for them to break even on the snacks.
Christie's is a specialist cancer centre treating people from all over the country. I had to use Christie's about 10 years ago so I know all about the brilliant facilities they have. You wouldn't expect them to spend money that is meant to pay for treatment on anything other than the essentials. Money raised through an event like this is used to pay for the extras that make life for patients and their families just a little easier. A box of children's toys in the waiting room or books and magazines on the wards are welcome distractions for all involved.
Donate through here and Christie's gets your money plus 25% in Gift Aid, and a further 3% supplement.
Every donation, however small, is welcome. (unless you're a contractor in which case every large donation is welcome)
