Story
From 18th June I will be riding from Land's End to John O'Groats on my own. Known as LEJOG or “end to end” this is a tough route of around 1000 miles and I will have no support apart from some good English/Scottish breakfasts!
Over the days I hope to clock up to 70-80
miles per day and will be carrying everything I need with me.
This ride is coming just days after I turn 60 and I know this may prove a real challenge but will also help me to take stock of what I've achieved over time and give me the time to think about how I want to continue to impact gender inequality and domestic abuse.
I first got to know Berkshire East & South Bucks Women's Aid (BESBWA) when working with them for a review of Slough’s partnership approach to domestic abuse. I saw the difficulties they were facing with funding but was mightily impressed with their quality of service and strategy for the future. They remain as committed to victims of domestic abuse as ever and really need people to understand what they do and attract funding to build on their success. It is a local charity for me that I greatly admire and I hope that they can benefit from my efforts. They certainly deserve your support.
