Story

People do not realize that Alzheimer's is not old age. It is a progressive and fatal disease and staggering amounts of people develop Alzheimer's every day.

The total cost of dementia to the UK is estimated at £26 billion a year but only £90 is spent on dementia research per patient per year . This is only a fraction of the amount spent on research into some other health conditions.

Key fact is that for every £1 received they spend 89p on directly improving the lives of people with dementia. They are the only UK charity investing in research into dementia care, cause, cure and prevention with a commitment to spend  £150 million on cutting-edge research over the next decade.

Every project they fund directly addresses the needs and concerns of people affected by dementia.

Reach your arm out and put it around them

Thank you

Much love,

Anthony/Tone

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
