Story

Joe’s uncle, Ian Stott (58) sadly passed away on 1 July 2022.   Like Joe he was diagnosed with brain cancer.  This occurred the day after his retirement drinks on 24th April. He commenced immune therapy treatment on the 21st June. He was admitted to hospital the day after with shortness of breath. His family were informed he had a blood clot on the lung, sepsis and pneumonia and during the early hours of  Saturday morning he had an extensive brain haemorrhage. He slowly deteriorated.  He had to rely on high amounts of oxygen, antibiotics and pain relief to see him through. We were informed by his Consultant that he didn't have long left with us. Ultimately he passed away on 1 July at 21:30. The family would like to thank everyone for their support during this difficult time. All donations made in Ian’s memory will go directly to improving the lives of teenagers and young adults in Cancer treatment. As a family, The Joe Gilligan Trust is very close to all our hearts. RIP Ian Allan Stott. www.joegilligantrust.co.uk
