Story
St Columba’s Hospice Care provides palliative and end-of-life care for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families. They are an independent charity at the heart of our local community and have been offering free, flexible and person-centred care and support to their patients and their families for over 40 years.
Having given fantastic care to a great friend, Colin & I are going to raise some funds to help them continue their great work.
The challenge this time is to cycle from St Columba's Abbey on Iona to St Columba's Hospice in Edinburgh in a day. Departing Iona on the 6.45am ferry, cycling across Mull, getting the 10am ferry to Oban and then cycling from Oban to Edinburgh, we are hoping to be at the Hospice by 9pm that evening. 160miles in total and, hopefully, done in under 12 hours in the saddle. If you feel for our backsides then we would be so grateful if you would please give as generously as you can.
You can find out more about all the services and the work the Hospice are doing across Edinburgh and the Lothians by visiting their website www.stcolumbashospice.org.uk.
