Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my justgiving page.
In June 2017 I am cycling 1000 miles from Land's End to John O'Groats (LEJOG) in just 8 days with a group of like-minded friends! That's 125 miles each day which is like running a marathon every day for 8 days! But why..........
I am a consultant paediatric surgeon at Leicester Children's Hospital where both my daughters have received care. As a father and surgeon, I have seen the hard working, caring and compassionate front line staff delivering excellent care under immense pressure.
Leicester Children's Hospital admits over 17,000 children every year from Leicester, the East Midlands and beyond. This can only happen if our front line staff are able to focus on the medical needs of the children and look after the family during a very emotional time. One of the biggest frustrations for front line staff is the time it can take to locate, prioritise and transport essential medical equipment.
In short, more medical equipment means better care and front line staff can spend more time caring for the children and their families.
This challenge is self funded so EVERY SINGLE PENNY donated will be spent on "Medical Kit 4 Kids" (wishlist below) for the children that are admitted to Leicester Children's Hospital.
Thank you for your interest and support. If you decide to make a donation rest assured your contribution will directly help the kids at Leicester Children's Hospital receive even better care.
