I am aiming to raise much needed funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association of Northern Ireland (MNDANI)
Motor Neurone Disease is a progressive disease that attacks the motor neurones, or nerves in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness and wasting. There is currently no cure....My good friend, Colm Davis (Albertville Harriers unofficial photographer!) received the devastating diagnosis of MND in May 2016 and since then he has been guided and supported by MNDANI whenever he has needed them. They provide an essential and invaluable life line to those who receive a diagnosis and to their family & friends.
What can we/ you do?
Fundraising is absolutely essential to raise the profile of MNDNI! We need to secure opportunities for research and treatment for this disease and apply rigorous pressure to those providing funding. Research projects into effective treatments, identifying early disease markers and genetic testing which could eventually lead ultimately to a cure require a huge financial input. The MNDANI are working hard to secure these things. No matter how small your donation is I can assure you that the money will go directly to those people who need it the most. Thank you for taking the time to read "Colm's Story"...
Yours most gratefully,
Anthony
