Otro año, otro maratón! Este año vamos a LONDRES - un maratón mítico. Gracias a todos vosotros, el año pasado con el maratón de Madrid recaudamos 12.315 euros.

Para aquellos que no conozcan la historia de nuestra hija, os la resumo - Ilana le diagnosticaron a la edad de año y medio (hace 3 años) SJIA - Artritis Idiopática Juvenil de forma sistémica. Desde entonces ha pasado por varios tratamientos para intentar controlar los diversos síntomas de esta enfermedad como son inflamación y daño de las articulaciones, fiebre y rash. Ilana lleva 2 años probando "Tocilizumab" una droga revolucionaria que todavia esta en ensayo clinico para niños, y su mejoria ha sido increible. Nuestro manera de sentir es que nuestra hija esta asi de bien gracias al trabajo de investigacion y  debemos de aportar nuestro granito de arena. Arthritis Research UK han sido los pioneros en estos tratamientos biologicos y por eso les siguimos apoyando.

Por todo ello he decidido correr el Maratón de Londres el Domingo 17 Abril 2011 con el fín de recaudar dinero para Arthritis Research para que asi pueda seguir investigando las causas desconocidas, los tratamientos y cura de esta enfermedad.

Another year, another marathon! This year we´re off to LONDON - one of the majors. Thanks to everyone out there, last year with the Madrid marathon we managed to raise 10,450  pounds.

For those of you who don´t know our daughter´s story, here it is - Ilana was diagnosed 3 years ago with SJIA - Systemic Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis. Since then she has been on various treatments to try to control the main symptoms of this debilitating disease which are joint swelling and damage, high temperatures and rash. Ilana has now been taking the revolutionary drug "Tocilizumab" for 2 years and her improvement has been incredible. We personally feel that Ilana is doing so well thanks to research work done and we need to support this.

Arthritis Research UK have been the pioneers in this type of biological treatment and for this reason we continue to support them.

I have decided to run the London marathon on Sunday the 17th of April 2011 to raise money for Arthritis Research so that continuing research into the unknown causes, treatment and cure of this disease can be done. So please dig deep and donate now.
