My story,
is really not about me, it is about the work of two fantastic charity
organisations and their work in Africa. It is about the soft-power of sport and working in partnership
to keep
Alive local employment and securing
children's
Right to Play.
Kampala's Kids live in difficult situations and are often at the bottom of the
priority list. There is a lack of resources to
support child development and the development of healthy and protective
communities in which they will grow up.
My plan
is simple I want to help provide that resource, to raise
£300 to get 30 balls (footballs & netballs) made in Kenya by
Alive
& Kicking delivered into Uganda to support the field-work of
Right to Play on projects across Kampala supporting
25,438 (11,475 female) children in regular activities.
With a
donation of
£10 to
Alive and
Kicking you can buy a ball and in doing so...
"...provide
balls for children who don’t have balls to play with, jobs for previously
unemployed 130 adults, and health awareness for young people through
sport."
(Alive and Kicking) http://www.aliveandkicking.org.uk
"...improve
the lives of children in the most disadvantaged areas of the world by using the
power of sport and play for development, health and peace."
(Right
to Play) http://www.righttoplay.org.uk
With your support I know I can make my target and should that target be met every additional donation will provide
one more ball for Kampala's Kids. So please
dig deep and donate now, becauce
"When children Play the world wins."
