Story

It would have been Emilys 11th Birthday on the 13th June. We miss her so so much.
Emily was a kind, gregarious, creative, funny, rainbow and butterfly loving little girl. She was also stubborn, absolutely knew her own mind, and faced her treatment stoically.
Emily died in February 2018 of Pneumonia bought on by a cold, post bone marrow transplant. She'd had a relapse from her original cancer, the transplant being her only hope.
Please give generously so that other families do not have to go through what we have.
Its difficult to convey how the treatment effects your child, but none of it is pleasant. From the rage bought on by steroids, hair loss, Isolation, missed friends, incontinence, vomiting, needles, ports, feeding tubes, regular spinal fluid withdrawal. Memories I would rather not have.
Before the pandemic blood cancer research was on the cusp of many new discoveries and developments into less harsh treatments. Much of this research is funded by charitable donations. Like many charities they have suffered badly with donations plummeting.
So a fitting challenge to get you donating,
This would have been a John o Groats to Lands End ride, we had to cancel that some months ago due to uncertainty over restrictions. So chase the sun it is then.
206 miles from Minster in Sheppy to Burnham on sea Somerset during the hours of light on the longest Saturday of the year. I must be mad!
