Story
For the last 20 weeks (since the Great South Run on 16th October) I have been growing my hair and the time is fast approaching for it to once again be shaved off in support of those who have no choice about losing theirs as a side-effect of treatment for various forms of cancer.
It's been a few years now since I lost two friends to cancer before I had time to shave my head in support of them and what they were going through. Since that time there have been others who have fought valiantly against this disease and undergone all manner of treatments to try and help them in their struggle.
Some have been amazing and have come through their ordeals, others like Jo and Gay have sadly not lived to tell the tale. Throughout all of ups and downs of cancer, however, charities like Marie Curie offer unbelievable support in the most unimaginably difficult of times, and so with spring in the air - and an increasingly uncontrolled "mop" on my head - the time is right to once more go under the clippers and brave the shave in support of those undergoing cancer treatments and to support the amazing work of Marie Curie.
If you are able and willing to help me in this quest, then thank you very much....and if not, well "thank you" at least for reading this far.
