Story

It is believed by many to be the land of opportunity; where dreams are realised and the words “…yes we can” echo down the streets of every town. We share this view and have decided to embark upon a journey of a lifetime and successfully cycle 14,000 miles through 33 states around the perimeter of the United States of America.

Starting in NYC on October 25, 2009 we plan to cycle south along the East coast to the Florida Keys then across the Southern tier, passing through New Orleans, Houston and the Grand Canyon to San Diego; and then up the Pacific Coast Highway all the way to Seattle and Vancouver. Hopefully with all our bodily parts intact (specifically the ‘crown jewels’) we’ll then cycle across the Northern tier, through the Great Lakes, past the Niagara Falls and on to Maine. The final stretch is all downhill (somehow it always feels like you’re going downhill when travelling North to South)! Anyway, the Atlantic coast through Boston to NYC will be the last leg, which we hope to complete by September 30, 2010.

We are raising money for Multiple Sclerosis (both US and UK) so please donate. Any amount makes a difference so please don’t feel shy if $5 or £5 is all you can spare. We are funding the trip ourselves so 100% of your donation goes to the charity.

Throughout the trip there will be an open “Forest Gump” in session, so any of you who feel the need to exercise your inner explorer please feel free to join us on any leg of the journey for as far as your glutei maximi will carry you.
