Story
Our goal is to raise funds to uplift the children at UPMC Children's Hospital during these trying times.
During the coronavirus era, many children have been isolated at home. It may be even worse for children in hospitals with the many restrictions that they have had to face. Our goal with this fundraiser is to bring more joy to the kids at the hospital by giving them an opportunity to play, create, and socialize. We want them to have as much fun as possible while they stay in the hospital.
UPMC has an area called the Creative and Expressive Art Therapy. In this part of the hospital, kids can play music, make art, play games, and most importantly, have fun. This is a place where the patients can escape from their pain, and be free to do what they desire.
UPMC Children's also has a whole area called the Dream Big Studio where children can express their ideas and be creative on radio and the hospital-wide TV channel. There are cooking classes, crafting classes, and so forth.
Here is what your money can do for the kids at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh:
$25 can provide craft kits for 5 patients
$50 can provide a video game for a patient
$100 can provide building block sets for 5 patients
In the end, all the children in the hospital deserve bright moments in their childhood. This is what we are trying to accomplish, to make their stay at the hospital as luminous as possible.
