Story
Sixteen years ago I was 23, pregnant and suddenly without a mum. My world literally crashed down around me, I had no idea how I was meant to carry on. But I did, and it made me stronger and gave me the final push to pursue my career in nursing so I could help in the way the nurses had helped look after my mum so fantastically.
18 years ago my mum was diagnosed with bowel cancer after two years of being told it was IBS, because then it was unheard of for a 48year old to have bowel cancer. She was diagnosed at 51 and died 20 months later. It had been caught too late.
She never met her first grandchild or saw my sister turn 18, get married and go on to achieve the amazing things she has both academically and personally, such as trekking through Belize.
Please help me to help Bowel Cancer UK to develop early screening, treatments and one day eradication.
My mum was larger than life, crazy, and so much fun to be with, and so a skydive is befitting to her care free and vibrant personality (despite her deep fear of heights 😆)
I thank you from the bottom of heart for anything you can spare to help others from going through the same thing my sister and I did.
