Story
Well we did it everyone! So chuffed to have managed it although I'm not wanting to run up another hill in a while. Did it in 4 hrs 27minutes faster than I dared hoped. The last 4 months of training certainly paid off and I actually felt strong until mile 20, when legs started to get tired. The support for Team Macmillan was fantastic (there was 120 of us running the marathon for Macmillan Cancer Support). I have however spent the last 2 days waddling around like a duck, rather funny seeing other people adopting strange walks around Inverness too.
Thank you everyone for your tremendous support and words of encouragement. I'm going to add the money I've saved by not catching the bus and running into work this summer to our fundraising total - so I'm off to count it. Will let you know our final sponsership amount soon and send some piccies round too.
Thanks again, Anniex
Hi all, thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
So, the real story is Nik took me out for my birthday and after a bottle of wine and 2 Limoncello liqueurs I had agreed to do a marathon (I'm really not used to drinking these days!).
I started training before Nik, which has helped to shift the last remnants of my pregnancy weight and should at least see me round in one peice even if I can't walk for days afterwards. So I would really appreciate it if you would support us in this mad endeavour by pledging some money to support Macmillan Cancer Support.
They have told me I should say that... Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Macmillan Cancer Support gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please help us raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and click "Sponsor Us Now" above.
Many thanks,
Annie
