Story

Thanks for visiting my page.....I can't tell you how proud I am of my beautiful daughter Annie for making the decision to 'chop it off for charlie'. She will also be donating her hair to ' The little princess trust'. Below is Charlie's story written by his mum, my sister in law. Please read and donate if you can and help Annie reach her target.

My 7 year old son Charlie from Ramsgate in Kent was heartbreakingly diagnosed with brain cancer in January 2014. He has been super strong and brave during 6 weeks of daily radiotherapy followed by a year of chemotherapy, transfusions and all the other nasty stuff and side effects that the amazing yet harsh treatment causes. In March 2015 he finished treatment and after this time is when the real risk of relapse occurs. We have recently found out that if this happens the outlook is not good as it would be very hard to treat. (Less than 4% cure rate) We desperately want to be able to get him the best treatment and to have the best options available if this happened. For example, entering a trial or medications may not be available on the NHS at this time. This costs money that we just do not have and we are asking for any help. Not getting him the best treatment available just is not an option for me, his dad and 2 brothers, but we just don’t see how we’re going to make it possible by ourselves. We need to have money in place ‘just in case’ as this type of cancer is highly aggressive and we would not have the luxury of time to raise the money if he did relapse. Any money donated here to Tree of Hope will solely go towards Charlie’s treatment and costs should it be necessary. And if not will go to helping another child. Should we exceed the target amount or if we do not raise enough funds, or if they cannot be used for any other reason, the funds raised will go to the general funds of Tree of Hope to assist other sick children. So, please, please donate or help in anyway you can.
