Story
Hiya! I'm Annie, 2nd Year Sussex University student, and I have decided to shave my head to raise money and awareness of the amazing work that Anthony Nolan does to save the lives of people with blood cancer/disorders in need of a generous donor.
My hair has always been a big part of my identity – I've only ever had two haircuts! Its always been long but Anthony Nolan is such a fantastic charity that helps so many people, I can't wait to dedicate myself further by shaving my head!
I have decided to do this to not only raise money, but to show my support to the men, women and children, that lose their hair during treatment. Therefore, I am aiming to raise £500 by December 2019, by shaving my whole head. The event will be at Falmer Quad at Sussex University, we will be there until from 11am until 2pm, please come along if you want to donate £5 to cut of a plait, and then at 2pm come along for the big shave. I'll be doing it with our Marrow Society, that I joined in my first year and am now Volunteer Coordinator on the committee.
Every day, Anthony Nolan saves the lives of people with blood cancer or blood disorder. They do this by matching incredible individuals willing to donate their stem cells, to people who desperately need a lifesaving transplant. They also carry out cutting-edge scientific research, fund specialist post-transplant nurses and support patients and their families through the transplant process and beyond. So, whilst you’re here please sign up to the marrow register: https://www.anthonynolan.org/marrow-anthony-nolan?utm_campaign=Marrow&utm_content=BrightonSussex&fbclid=IwAR1knXoxxmcR7HVWKeyMF3hW3uWhHNI8hBKDhnagSzvrZIO7Ni8e-PXrO44
Thank you so much for reading, and for your donations. ❤️
