Story
It is the time of year when our lives changed forever and I have promised the children that every year for ten years (matching the length of time we were married) I and or we will take on a challenge. Having swam the distance of the English Channel the last two years I decided to ramp it up a bit this year! So I have gone ahead and booked myself onto this mammoth challenge, walking the Thames Path from Putney to Henley, a total of 100km over two days. Training starts now!! I have to admit, the enormity of this challenge is a bit scary, and I know I’m going to feel it everywhere for at least a week after.
As most of you are aware, Brad had his accident at 7.30 on Wednesday 17th July 2019, he was rushed to the wonderful Neuro ICU department in the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford before undergoing three brain surgeries and finally succumbing to his injuries 10 days later at 4.36pm on Saturday 27th July. He sustained massive brain trauma and ultimately had he survived we would have needed Headway for both his recovery and mental state along with their unwavering support and guidance for the families of those affected directly. Therefore for the last 24 months the children and myself have been raising money for this amazing charity, last year raising a total of just over £5,000.
