Story
I've created this page because I am participating in 2023 Climb for a Cause.
At 28, I’ll be climbing to 14,410 ft, the top of Mt Rainier. To do so I need to raise $3,500 for Washington’s National Park Fund.
At 18, I was told there was a chance I’d wear a boot for the rest of my life because I needed a second surgery to resize the margins of an epithelioid sarcoma tumor (What was suppose to be “just a bundle of scar tissue”). The margins needed to cut a portion of the tendon which lifts your foot which is where my 1 in 10 million epithelioid sarcoma had been growing unnoticed for years.
I’m forever grateful for my orthopedic surgeon- not only getting clean margins but for allowing me to put one foot in front of another unassisted and later find and use my hiking/backpacking hobby for good.
The parks give so much, please join me in giving back to these magnificent places and help to make a last difference for Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Parks. The more people that know about Washington's National Park Fund, the greater their impact, so please spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot to the many who use national parks!
