We provide health and disability care to the world's most vulnerable

Story

Hello hello!

In 2007, Hope Health Action set up a hospital in Northern Haiti to provide life-saving health and disability care for the wider community. I am so excited to be taking part in a trip to Haiti to volunteer at HHA's hospital in March 2018.

Due to political instability and significant natural disasters including the 2010 earthquake, Haiti has become the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and has some of the worst health indicators in the world. When I read this, I knew that this trip is something I wanted to be part of.

We will be helping where we can in the hospital, taking part in a project (to be decided on nearer to the time) and working in the Maison de Benediction which is a respite care home for children with special needs. The money raised will go directly towards materials for the chosen project, and resources for the children in the Maison, plus the cost of my accommodation.

I have heard incredible things about the work done here in Haiti and I am really looking forward to meeting all the people who make it happen - and the children!

Any support is much appreciated! Thank you x x
