Story
Here's a photo of me and my mum sharing my favourite story, The Smeds and The Smoos but this is a specially adapted version of the book that was made by the amazing Living Paintings. I have Glaucoma so I can't just pick up a book and look at the pictures in the same way that most children can.
Luckily I am a member of Living Paintings who make Touch to See books for blind and partially sighted people and their books have raised images that I can feel so I know exactly what a Smed and a Smoo look like; there is also an audio and braille inserts that describe the book and the story to me. These book have been carefully adapted with me and my family (but mostly me) in mind so that we can all share them and this makes reading and story time much more fun for me.
Living Paintings provide these special books to hundreds of children just like me and they do this completely free of charge so it's really important that they raise lots of money so that they can keep making new books for all the blind and partially sighted children who deserve to enjoy books and reading.
I am going to read three pictures books every week, from now until the end of January and I hope that you will sponsor me so that I can help Living Paintings.
You know what to do...
Thank you
