Story
My beautiful daughter was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia on the 1st of May 2014. Despite having had 9 months of intense chemotherapy she continues to have daily oral chemo, weekly blood tests, monthly consultant appointments and 3 monthly intrathecal treatment where she has a general anesthetic for prophylactic chemotherapy in her brain and spinal fluid. This will continue for a further 10 months, until October 2016.Annie is doing well, loving school, is extremely happy and always has a smile on her face! Thankfully, due to charity based scientific research, Annie's prognosis is good and her survival is significantly better compared to 5 years ago. This would never have been possible without the ongoing research and development in cancer scientific research. Bloodwise (formerly Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research) is an established UK charity improving treatment for adult and child blood cancers. As a token of thanks to all those clever folk in the labs whose work has really made a difference to Annie's survival - as well as to support future research into this life changing illness, I have decided, together with a group of close friends, to complete a challenge every month for Annie's remaining 10 months of chemotherapy. I do hope that some of you will be willing to support us - either through donations or by joining in the fun. Diolch yn fawr.#ForAnnie10monthsKeep visiting for updates on our 10month plan of action!
