Story
Lung cancer is the most common cancer in the world.
Annette felt very strongly that she would like people to donate towards lung cancer research as opposed to cancer research in general. We have learnt from Macmillan that lung cancer only gets a quarter of the research funding given to breast cancer.
20% of new diagnosis are currently non-smoking related - which was the type of lung cancer that Annette had. Symptoms only present themselves when the cancer is advanced which is why early diagnosis is of paramount importance. Hopefully with research and understanding more about the disease, people can be diagnosed early so that chances of survival are that much higher.
lung cancer is not the highest priority despite being the biggest killer.
