Make a Splash - JDRF Sponsored Swim · 3 April 2017 ·

On or around 14 November each year, millions of people around the globe mark World Diabetes Day in different ways, helping to raise important awareness and funds for JDRF.

Story

Simply .... Sam was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes aged nine and a half.  It's a horrible disease that requires management 24/7, with short and long term health consequences and is only managed by use of a drug that can kill him if we get it wrong.  WE NEED A CURE.

Please support me in raising valuable funds for JDRF, the only Type 1 charity and the major funder of all forms of research into Type 1 Diabetes.

To raise funds, I'm seeking your sponsorship to swim the distance of the English Channel - all 21 miles - over a period of 12 weeks in my local swimming pool.  The challenge starts on 9 January 2017 (or when I find swimming costume I'm willing to be seen wearing in public!).  I will do the challenge rather sitting and watching Sam at swimming and will need to average about 120 lengths per week in a 25m pool!!!  You know I will keep you updated with my progress online (LOL!).

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you so much.
