Story
OK, I really don’t like asking for money, but as we don’t live in a barter economy, have to ask you to consider sparing a few pounds, the price of a pint or a Cappuccino, or more if you can, to support the invaluable work of Cavendish Cancer Care.
Cavendish Cancer Care provides Complementary Therapies to children, from the age of 3, and adults who either have a cancer diagnosis themselves or to an individual affected by the Cancer diagnosis of someone close to them.
As most of you know I work at Cavendish (Acupuncture, Shiatsu and Massage Therapist) and see first hand how much the therapies that are offered can make a difference. Someone may want help with very physical issues, such as nausea, fatigue or pain; always support with the enormous emotional impact of having a Cancer diagnosis. Sometimes, it’s just to listen and massage the hand of individuals who can feel so desperately alone with their own or loved one’s diagnosis. To be heard as an individual and whatever concern arises, not defined by their Cancer diagnosis.
Aye, this will burn, this will pinch and it’ll be a challenge BUT no challenge, burn or pinch comes close to what the individuals that Cavendish work with face.
I’ve paid to take part in this event (just saying as I like climbing mountains!) so all your pounds and pennies will directly benefit those affected by a Cancer Diagnosis.
£108 will pay for 4 therapy sessions, £548 will thus pay for 20!
Please give as you can.
Thank you!
Cavendish Cancer Care is a Sheffield charity dedicated to improving the quality of life for those living with cancer and their loved ones.Last year, they supported over 1,700 people affected by cancer, including carers and children. They offer free-of-charge packages of therapy and support, tailored to each individual's specific needs. But Cavendish only receive enough statutory funding to keep their doors open for about two weeks each year, meaning they rely on the generosity of the public to keep running. Put simply - they need your help.
