Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. -
Many of us have been touched by cancer in some way, either directly or indirectly. Sadly I have lost a very close relative Joy and two good friends to this illness during the past year. Joy and I had planned to do this challenge together but it was not to be.
I will be joining around 30 people aiming to conquer Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania as part of Macmillan’s Kilimanjaro hiking challenge. It will be an extremely testing physical challenge camping in remote and dramatic conditions at altitudes up to 5,893 metres!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Macmillan Cancer Support will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you
.It is only 4 weeks before I go ! I am sure all the training in the wet and windy hills will have been worthwhile!
If you haven`t sponsored me yet - there is still time .
Thank you on behalf of Macmillan and many thanks for your support.
Only 10 days now!
It is never too late to sponsor me-all you people who intended to donate to Macmillan - there is still time!
The local Advertiser have included a photograph of Joy in my press release-a timely reminder why I am doing this trek. She was such a fighter.
Thanks for your support.I have been back from the trek for 2 weeks and intended updating my page earlier-sorry!
I did not make it to the summit of Kili but I gave it my all.I know this was the most difficult physical challenge I have ever and probably will ever do.I was beaten by the dreaded travellers stomach which I could not manage in the challenging environment and consequently the altitude. But I am proud to have been there and in the company of like minded companions and to have raised money for Macmillan. If I can do this then maybe you could too!!
Again thanks ANNE
