Story

Oops, I did it again... I accepted one of Lucy Buck's charity challenges, this time joining the #100forChildsi team. The #100forChildsi team (100 members) are busy knocking one thing off their bucket list and raising £100 each for Child's i Foundation at the same time.

As it turns out, I have never really thought about my bucket list, but earlier this year I did set myself the goal of running three half marathons in 2014. The reality: I have only been out for a handful of embarrassingly short runs so far and I have been volunteered to run the Bupa London 10,000 this Sunday. Virtually untrained. Painful.

Hopefully the thought of raising money for charity will help me through my slowest 10k yet, so I would be really grateful if you could spare some cash for this very worthy cause. And maybe, just maybe, it will also get me back on track for my personal goal.

About Child's i Foundation

Child's i Foundation run an emergency care centre in Uganda and babies are admitted to them by the police. They are dumped in pit latrines, on the roadsides and in rubbish bins in Kampala. The last two little girls were abandoned on a rubbish dump and a septic tank and weighed a pitiful 2kgs. Child's i Foundation's aim is to get them into loving families so their tragic beginning is never remembered.

£100 pays for the social work team to trace family members. If family members cannot be found, Child's i Foundation have a waiting list of approved families who will provide the babies with love and a sense of belonging.
