Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I’ve signed up to run my first and probably only marathon, in Edinburgh on Sunday 29th May. This is going to be the furthest I have ever run and I’m raising money for Parkinson’s UK. My dear mum, Jean Paton, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease about 10 years before she died in April 2017, aged 90. Her latter years were a struggle, but she always remained positive, I never once heard her complaining, but Parkinson’s disease made her life so difficult as her mobility became more and more limited. Still she would fight on, shuffling from her chair in her sitting room through to the kitchen for lunch and back again. Each day it seemed she was taking on a marathon, as she returned exhausted to her chair to slumber through the afternoon. I would love my attempt at a marathon to help those today who are struggling with Parkinson’s disease and hopefully one day a cure will be found.
