Story
When a best friend of over 30 years sends you a message to say that she can’t think of anyone else crazy enough to join her in her first walking challenge, how can you refuse?
Lou and I met in The Old Nurses Home the day before starting our nurse training, we have shared lots of life, loves, laughs, sickness, weddings, births of our children and our friendship has lasted across the years and across countries and counties.
Lou works for St Margaret’s Hospice but none of us would have thought her and Mike would have to call on them for their support. They were there for Lou , Mike, Sam & George at the time when they were needed the most.
Mike sadly died at home with Lou and his boys with him in April 2021.
I'm taking on the Himalayan Trek and raising money for St Margaret's Hospice because they rely on fundraising to allow them to continue supporting families in some of their darkest moments. Hospices do not receive full funding from the NHS or government, but they provide a vital service for anyone who needs it.
Please give whatever you can, no matter how small or large your donation will make a huge difference .
Thank you
