Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My friend Linda Fallon has a rare respiratory condition called LAM and it has changed her life in so many ways. She now has to have 24 hour oxygen, finds it hard to eat enough, and activities of everyday living can be exhausting, so that she has to budget her energy and plan carefully for work, social activities and holidays. Despite this she is a bright star and constant inspiration for everyone who knows her. I know Linda appreciates all the information and support she has had from LAM Action, and she has raised money for them whilst getting them some much-needed publicity. As LAM is rare, many members of the healthcare professions she meets know very little about it and so research and education are badly needed.
I feel very lucky to be healthy. I have decided to support LAM Action whilst setting myself a new challenge. I am nearly 59 and I have never run before this year but am now training hard to take my place in a relay team, made up of fellow Speech & Language Therapists and families, for the Edinburgh marathon on 22 May 2011. If I succeed I will run 5.4 miles.
NEWSFLASH - FINISHED YESTERDAY IN RECORD TIME (FOR ME)!
Please give a big boost to Linda, LAM Action and me by digging deep and making a donation. Thanks!
