Story
I’m running the Brighton Marathon in April to raise as much money as I can for Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice in Cheltenham, where I have worked as a Research Nurse since 2012. I care for patients in research studies which aim to help improve patient’s symptoms and experiences when they are faced with life threatening illnesses. I love working at the hospice and feel very fortunate to work with a team of wonderful people who make such a difference at what can be the most challenging time in a person’s life.
To continue to provide this hospice care we need to raise around £2.5 million per year. In real terms your donations could help pay for the following:
- £18 could pay for one hour of care to support people to live the fullest life possible
- £135 could pay for a hospice nurse for a day
- £500 could pay for a day of in-patient care
This is a huge challenge for me and 26.2 miles feels way out of my comfort zone. I’d be so grateful if you felt able to support me, even a small amount can help to make a very big difference.
