Story
I completed the run yesterday in under five hours. It was hard especially the last few miles which were off road. We had lots of rain, hail, thunder and mud.

Support me as I take on ‘Europe’s Toughest Marathon’!
I am preparing to run the Snowdonia Marathon on Saturday 30th October 2010 to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support.
Snowdonia Marathon, which was founded in 1982, is regarded as the most difficult in Europe and takes runners through some of the most spectacular scenery in the UK. The course has got several steep hills on it starting at over 300 feet above sea level and in the first four miles it climbs over 1,000 feet. At the end of the race, the last five miles take runners on another steep climb of over 1,000 ft. The remote route doesn’t allow for many supporters to encourage the runners so your donations will help keep me motivated throughout the race!Fundraising for MacMillan has been inspired by the recent launch of a new charity partnership between Boots and Macmillan Cancer Support in order to improve access to cancer care in the UK. This will offer a new level of support to people living with cancer, with the ambition that everyone across the UK will have access to the best cancer information and support in their community.
As a pharmacist at Boots, I am committed to this initiative and have decided to use running the Snowdonia Marathon as a fantastic way of raising funds for MacMillan to support their valuable work. This is my tenth marathon and will certainly prove the toughest so please donate as little or as much as you can to fuel my determination to complete it!
