Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I was appointed Hennerton GC ‘s Lady Captain for the golfing year 2020/21 and now because of circumstances we are all too familiar with I am now staying on until 2022.

The Captains’ choose a charity to support for their year (or two) in office.

We chose Headway Thames Valley the brain injury charity based in Henley-on-Thames.

My mother had a severe stroke but lived for 18 years with the life changing results and my daughter-in-law fractured her skull in a fall, fortunately with no apparent lasting effects.

I am a Retired PE teacher and was a hockey player and I followed the remarkable career ending head trauma that the England Hockey Captain Alex Danson suffered.

Alex is now an Ambassador for Headway

Golf has resumed  but Headway still needs funds.

The Members at Hennerton have continued to support Headway through donations, prize draws, selling pottery, second hand golf clothing and equipment.

Friends and family supported me in my Lockdown cycle challenge of cycling the National Cycle Route 4 &47, the  London Eye to Fishguard or 500 km on a bike trainer in my shed.

The major fund raising event of our golfing year at Hennerton GC is Charity Day and this will take place on Saturday 28th August 2021.

If you play golf enter a Team of four, sponsor a hole, donate a prize or just donate to my page. Contact me for more details. Entry forms available soon.

I am keeping my JustGivng page active as the money will go directly to Headway who like all charities need support in these unusual times.

I know there are a lot of great causes asking for support but if you feel you could donate anything at all that would be brilliant…..thank you.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
