We are fighting to make a world where diabetes does no harm

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I signed up for the Manchester 10k as a new year resolution (oh no... a sure sign of failure imminent!) but to try to keep fit. When I found out that the key sponsor was Diabetes UK, it just seemed to fit.

I lost my Dad last year after a long illness and he'd suffered from diabetes for many years. I am proud that my probably very slow and painful running will have a real purpose then, to support the work the charity does, in particular to stop the increase of Type 2 diabetes, through encouraging healthy lifestyle. I'm so very far from a 'put that cake down' activist as it's possible to get, but I do know I don't want to be like dad who by his own admission, could've done more to be active and stay fit. I think he'd be happy that I'm going to put myself through some pain to help others.

The details then: donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So if you're here and you're donating - just thanks. It's much appreciated.
