Fundraising for Sarcoma UK
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
What is this all about? Two years ago, when my husband (Martin) had surgery to deal with an unusual kind of cancer, we had cause to be very grateful for the existence of a tiny charity called GIST Support UK.A "GIST" is what he had, and can expect to have again. Through GIST Support UK, the former scientist in him could get hold of lots of information about what we could expect (clinical research results and survivability statistics, and what is being learnt about how this cancer works). He has also taken chances to share experience with other people who also have this kind of cancer, which has let us understand that there is a huge variety of ways in which this can all play out.GIST Support UK is now associated with a broader group called The Sarcoma Trust. We saw in their newsletter that we have an opportunity to give something back - a chance to participate in a sponsored skydive. Martin and I have both signed up to do this, and have just received our medical certification that we are "fit to fall".This event happens on July 24th, starting from about 2.5 miles above a spot near Peterborough. I understand from the organising body that we will receive training in, "most importantly how to exit the aircraft in a stable face-to-earth position".What would I like to see happen next?I know that everybody has many calls on their generosity, but I would be very grateful if you would consider sponsoring me for this skydive. (You may sponsor Martin as well, or instead, as we hope that BP will match whatever sponsorship he can amass).Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
