The story so far ....... 

At the beginning of this year my husband signed me up for Chillswim which is a 5.25 Mile swim, end to end, in Lake Coniston. I felt the need for a challenge and this one seems to have ticked all the boxes. 

It takes place on the 1st of September 2018 and training is well under way. It's been a colourful and challenging journey so far. There have been days when I have totally questioned my sanity and ability and others where the feeling of being in the water when everything is going right, gliding along, that have been incredible. I have even hugely reduced my alcohol intake which for those people who know me well may be thinking that I have been abducted by aliens and there is an impostor out with them. ( That said I have also well and truly fallen off the wagon a couple of times and Sunday swims have been off the agenda on these occasions !!) 

I have had great support on the journey and have reached out for coaching to ensure that I can get to where I need to be ( Ideally the other end !). This has been a huge help and assisted me to get over the many hurdles that have presented along the way. There have also been some raised eyebrows from some people when I have said what I have set out to achieve. I will finish this but I don't want to just finish it .... I want to achieve a good time whilst enjoying it and having a good time !

The idea behind The Light Fund was to build an industry wide charity body that would raise monies to fund worthwhile charity projects to help children, women and men. Together with a group of like minded people from the UK licensing industry The Light Fund committee was formed in 2004 and the fundraising commenced. The Light Fund name is an acronym for: Licensing Industry Giving Help Together.
