Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm in training again since Christmas...
I've entered the 6th Trail - a 6km trail run event at my most favourite place, Portmeirion in North Wales - which is due to take place for the first ever time on Saturday April 12th 2014 http://www.6thtrail.co.uk/ .
Described by the organisers as: "A very challenging course, different terrain, tarmac, rocky, trail, mud and a very mysterious feel to the run within the ‘Gwyllt’ woods" Consisting of 2 laps, each of which: "start at the village down to the hotel [by the estuary] and into the woods, a few climbs and 1 tough climb to the top then down hill back to village.......there would be no point in a race / challenge if it was easy." Knowing the gradient of some of the climbs, I know it will be a big challenge!
This will be the first time I have donned my running shoes in "anger" since the Marathon that I struggled through at Easter 2012 (which I did to raise funds for Algernon Trust). And will be my first ever trail run event since my school cross-country days nearly 30 years ago.
I have decided to run to raise money for a good cause (In memory of my beloved cats Holly and Stan who both "passed" last year) - Namely; Algernon Trust - a local animal sanctuary and re-homing centre who rescue and re-home unwanted pets in the Daventry and South Northamptonshire area, as well as surrounding counties.
So please sponsor me to raise funds for Algernon Trust Animal Sanctuary. Your sponsorship will help save the lives of animals and help look after those in the Trust's care. Please help me raise as much as possible. Many thanks ^_^
