Story
Hello,
Welcome to my JustGiving page, here is my story:
September 2019 I was offered a spot to run the London Marathon in support of RSPCA. I was over the moon but little did I know things would not go to plan.
26th April 2020 instead of running on the streets of London, I ran the solitary 26.2miles on my own around a local village. 10.5 laps. There were no crowds, no support, no medal.
4th October 2020 - More than 37,000 people, from all corners of the world, completed the virtual Virgin Money London Marathon on Sunday 4 October 2020. The final finisher total of 37,966 means the event has been awarded an official Guinness World Records title for the Most users to run a remote marathon in 24 hours. I was one of them, I ran 26.2miles alone but this time I got my medal!
August 2021 - I had a beautiful baby boy and was settling into the life of parenthood but meant I couldn’t take part in the 1st in person London Marathon post pandemic in October 2021.
2nd October 2022 - 3 years in the making. A chance to attend the real thing, a chance to run with thousands of others surrounded by cheering crowds, a chance to make memories of a lifetime…
But, alas, it was not meant to be...
The war in Ukraine has affected our family and taken a mental toll. An old injury flared up, working full time juggling motherhood I had very little time to train, and had to make the difficult decision to change to the Virtual London Marathon to allow myself the best chance to finish.
Please help me to achieve my target of £10,000.
I’m so close. Every penny counts towards helping animals in need. I didn’t run in London this year but I did the 26.2miles again all by myself and I desperately want to achieve my target for RSPCA!
Thank you!
