Story

Hi!

I have signed up to do the British Red Cross's challenge weekend in Bramley, Hampshire, on the 23rd September 2005.

What is the Disaster Response Challenge? Well, to cut a long story short - the Red Cross simulate a disaster scene, and then us lot turn up and they press us into service...

Why am I doing this? Well - it seemed like a good way to raise money for a good cause whilst practising my first aid skills too. Also - I'm not fit enough for fun runs, not brave enough for baked-bean baths, and there is NO WAY ON THIS PLANET that I'd fling myself out of a perfectly good aeroplane armed only with a few yards of silk... Which is not to criticise anyone who does so - but one does what one can, and this is what I can do... PLEASE - if you're thinking of donating, donate now - I will be getting on the train on Friday afternoon, and need to hit my target of 500 pounds before then... I'm over halfway there now - please help me get the rest of the way! Also, if you are anything at all like me - if you decide you'll get around to it tomorrow...well, you know what they say about tomorrow. Thank you very very much indeed to everyone who has sponsored me so far! Anna
